Happy Easter!

Hello Stampers!  It's been a while since I posted... sorry about that. Life has been extremely busy of late.  I do hope all of you had a Happy and Blessed Easter!  I spent Easter Sunday with my grand daughter, Avah. How was your Easter?

Today, I have a Stampin' Up! basket tutorial for you... its small and adorable. Works well for sharing treats at work. I would imagine it would make a perfect placeholder for a baby shower or a formal dinner table. And it's super easy to make using only a 6x6 sheet of designer series paper! I made mine with some retired stash I had left over - Great way to use up scraps!

This basket uses the Stampin' Up! Gift Box Punch Board and its smallest box template. I did not punch the corners but instead folded those down the outside of the box to make use of the 2-sided DSP.

February 2016 Pumpkin Tag

#OneLittleTag

My Paper Pumpkin Tag

Thought I would share my #OneLittleTag project from this week.  I was playing around with the February Paper Pumpkin kit and decided to put together a tag. All of the stamps used were from this month's kit. I used Blackberry Bliss and Pool Party ink to stamp the flowers and sentiment. The pinkish looking flower was created using Blackberry Bliss and the stamping off method.  The triangle paper for the tag came directly from the kit and I used a piece of scrap Pool Party card stock for the bottom star border.  I finally embellished the stars and flowers with a bit of Dazzling Details to add a shimmer effect to the tag.

Paper Pumpkin is so versatile... the card I made for my weekly deals post on Tuesday even used the Celebrate sentiment from the May 2015 Birthday Bundle.  If you aren't collecting Paper Pumpkin stamps you are seriously missing out.  I have found lots of uses for the stamps... just when I think I don't have a stamp, I peak through my Pumpkin box and it never fails.  From birthday to sympathy and everything in between, thanks to My Paper Pumpkin - I have a stamp for that!

Here's how I organize my Pumpkin stamps:

I like to keep the instructions folded in half, label the fronts with the month and year, then slide them in a cello bag and keep them in order by month and year.  The boxes are inexpensive and come from Michael's.  I use one of the chip board pieces that come in every Pumpkin kit, cut it down and glue on one of the tabbed divider pieces that come with my box.  Then I write the kit name on the tab divider piece when I add my set to the box each month.  I am betting I can hold 3-4 years worth of stamps in this one box.  The lid fits nicely and it sits on my shelf and blends with the rest of my boxes.

Did you know that NOW is the very best time to subscribe to Paper Pumpkin?  Why? Because of Sale-A-Bration.  You can get prepaid subscriptions for Paper Pumpkin and earn FREE Sale-A-Bration products as well.  AND the 3-month prepaid subscription is currently on sale for only $55!

Celebrate Weekly Deals - Feb 23 - 29

Hiya! It's been a few weeks since I shared a weekly deals post. I was sick with a pretty bad cold and I am finally feeling well enough to be back in the basement in my craft room.  Hope February has been good to all of you. Other than being sick, my Valentine's Day was pretty spectacular... lets just say roses, balloons, chocolate, gold jewelry... and lots of love came my way... It sure made my illness seem a lot less stressful. Oh... at the start of my sickness I was on a trip to visit my KC stampin' family... more to come in a later post about all I learned there.  So stay tuned!

Today I made my card using the Stars Framelits from our weekly deals.  My inspiration came from a similar card created by Shannon Lane from Crush On Colour.  Her card used pinks and yellows along with the stars framelits but I wanted to go with blues and yellows from our 2015-17 In Colors - Hello Honey and Lost Lagoon.  Plus I added a zip of sparkle by using gold glimmer paper with the framelits and the stars border punch.  I used those itty bitty star bits to embellish my sky.

Weekly Deals - Just For You!

Today's Weekly Deals project is a tag using the 2014-16 In-Color Markers.  I used the markers to quickly color the small elements on the tag. I have found when using a stamp that requires quite a bit of coverage such as the sentiment on this card, it is best to use the ink pad, rather than the markers, for optimal coverage. The markers work great to stamp less bold objects (unless you are going for a washed out or textured looking inking).

Once I completed the stamping I went over all the elements with my Wink of Stella Glitter Brush pen from the Occasions Catalog... I am so loving that thing!  Check out Shack Scraps on facebook where I shared a cool tip I learned as well as a Stampin' Up! video that details that very tip.

Finally, I hung a couple of the Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons from the tag top so they would dangle down over the front of the tag. I finished the flower centers with Jewel Basic Pearls and sponged the Very Vanilla tag with a bit of Crumb Cake ink to match the Crumb Cake cardstock tag in the back. I love the look of layered tags, don't you!

Without further ado, here are the weekly deals for this week:

Don't forget, for every $50 you spend, you get FREE Sale-A-Bration items!  That stamp set used in the tag was a Sale-A-Bration set called Botanicals For You. There are some really amazing stamps in the Sale-A-Bration brochure... go take a look!

My Heart Smiles - Weekly Deals Project

This week's weekly deals project focuses on two products from our weekly deals - the In Color Envelope Paper pack and the Hearts Border Punch.  I used the Watermelon Wonder striped envelope paper on a card rather than on an envelope to show that this product is extremely versatile. It makes  a gorgeous card and also will line the envelope to give you flawless coordination.

I also used the coordinating Dotted Lace Trim and a brand new stamp set as well as the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen from the Occasions catalog.  This card could easily be made using the "Something to Say" clear mount stamp set that is also available during this week's Weekly Deals.

If you already own the in-color inks, you could easily throw together a quick $50 bundle using the weekly deals and a few other items to create a stack of these cards and qualify for a FREE Sale-A-Bration item!

I'd fully recommend using the "big ways, small ways..." sentiment on the outside of the card and then put the "love you always!" sentiment on the inside.  Embellish with the scribbly heart stamp as well as the punched hearts to make this card utilize the deals even more! With every pack of the Envelope Paper, you will get two sheets of the striped Watermelon Wonder paper. Each card uses a 3x4" panel - giving you loads of cards from just one sheet!
