Inspired by Jamberry April 3

My apologies to all of you for taking so long to get this posted. I have been very busy this evening. I adopted another hermit crab...making two in my 10 gal aquarium. The first is MOP - Mother of Pearl, because of her pretty pearlescent shell. Not sure if this one is a SHE or a HE... and not sure how to tell the difference. The new one is called Bitty... cuz she/he is so tiny.  I was picking up compressed coconut soil for MOP's crabitat when I decided to get another one. I love my little crabbies...so long as they stay in their aquarium... and I don't have to touch them (much).

Anyway, between last night and this evening, I have my cards for my Inspired by Jamberry post completed. I hope you enjoy!

My inspiration for my first card came from the Out of Focus wrap. I love the colors in this wrap... they just go with everything. I had lots of options to choose from by making my background a bokah technique with so many colors. I chose to tie in the black via the sentiment and the edging layer. Then I chose to tie in the card base color choice with the pretty balloon on the front. I loved the confetti look on the balloon so I carried that over into the inside of the card.

Product & Supplies List

I was inspired by the Butterfly Kisses wrap for my 2nd card.  I chose to do a 4 1/4 perfect square card this time. I rarely ever do square cards, so this was new to me. Butterflies were my overall theme. I also wanted to stick as close as possible to the feel of the Butterfly Kisses card.

By incorporating the pretty purplish mauve, black and white, I feel I stuck as close as I could. This card required a bit of embossing and use of not traditional card supplies such as a window sheet to keep the high shine look of the butterfly over the roughed glittery surface. The sentiment stamps are no longer available as they are from the Lotus Blossom free set from Sale-A-Bration but there are many other fine sentiments that would easily replace these two. Here's your supply list.

Mustang Monday Intro

I have to tell you one of my dirty little secrets...I am in love with the Mustang car, specifically the 65-67 fastbacks. One day, thanks to Mustang Monthly, I found a Mustang on my facebook page that was, of all colors, Crisp Cantaloupe. I immediately sat for about 2 hours searching the web to find a Mustang for every Stampin' Up! color...and low and behold - I did it! While finding all the colorful cars, I formulated the idea of a color challenge and a way to explore Stampin' Up! colors more thoroughly.

Get ready for our newest series of posts beginning April 6th - the Mustang Monday series.. Each week, on Mondays, we will explore a different Stampin' Up! color inspired by one of the many colors of Mustangs from the last 50 years. We will look at many different color combinations and share some really nifty Mustang facts...

In addition, about every 3 weeks, we will play with color through a "Stampin' Up! only" Color Challenge. I will post a separate entry on that same Monday where we can link up our cards. I'll post a hostess code for each challenge which you can optionally use to order product for your challenge card. After 3 weeks, readers will vote in a poll and the top three winners will receive a prize.  Prizes will be determined based on hostess dollars earned through the color challenge event. So, if you need product for your challenge card, use the hostess code to order and you could be a winner of the round!
