Snowy Trees Card
One of my Michael's co-workers, Lisa, is looking to make some holiday cards this year and has asked for my help. Lisa pinned a couple of cards to her pinterest board and I decided to attempt to "CASE" them. In this CASE, I decided to attempt to copy it as closely as possible because that's what Lisa was wanting. Many times, I will change up and just use stamps I have on hand and change almost the entire feel of the card with different sentiments and/or images. Below is the card I CASED/Copied.The card for today comes from Joy in Australia entitled "O Christmas Tree". Joy used a couple of Hero Arts stamp sets for her trees and sentiment, which gave it a more clean look than mine. Visit her page linked above to view all the supplies she used and leave her a comment - bloggers love visitors and comments!
I didn't have the Hero Arts stamps sets, so I used old olive cardstock from Stampin' Up cut in tree shapes and heat embossed using a couple stamps I had on hand. I used a flourish from a Tim Holtz set, a musical notes background stamp, and a Christmas sentiment stamp to decorate my trees. I added extra embossing powder to the edges to give it a "snowy" effect and natural jute twine instead of bakers twine. A bit of Peeled Paint Distress Ink to give the trees a bit of depth, and then some scrap brown paper to make my stumps distressed with Frayed Burlap Distress ink.
I hope you like my card and please remember to visit Joy's page. Until next time....
